Year & Day

Year & Day is a tabletop brand based in California and designed for millennials, offering its customers beautiful, highest-quality dinnerware, flatware, and glassware that enables them to effortlessly set a timeless and stylish table.

Using the name Year & Day as a staring point we used the nature of time to create a solution for the identity. A year is the Earth’s movement around the sun, while a day is the single rotation of the earth. This rotation happens along the earths axis which is at an angle of 23.5 degrees. We used these facts to created a monogram based identity with a planetary feel and the axis represented as a diagonal line.

We pushed this concept further creating support icons that represented the earth, sun and moon with other playful space based icons such as rockets and stars. This style of iconography was also continued onto the products themselves.
